| 국문 초록 | 이 논문은 황순원의 장편소설 󰡔움직이는 성(城)󰡕에 나타난 통전적(統全的, holistic) 구원사상을 규명하는 것을 목적으로 하고 있다. 개화기에 미국 북장로교 선교사들에 의해 기독교가 전파되었던 서북지역 출신인 황순원은 서북지역의 기독교계 학교를 거치면서 기독교사상을 내면화하였다. 서북지역의 기독교는 미국 북장로교의 영향 가운데 초교파적 복음주의와 교리적 포용주의, 그리고 반제국주의적 민족주의 등이 결합된 독특한 양상을 나타내고 있다. 󰡔움직이는 성󰡕에서는 샤머니즘과 함께 기독교가 비판적으로 그려지고 있는데 이는 현세적 구복주의에 매몰되어 있는 비(非)통전적 유랑민 근성을 작가가 비판하고자 했기 때문이다. 이 소설에서는 개인과 사회의 구원과 함께 영혼과 육체의 구원을 모두 중시하는 통전적 구원사상이 특징적으로 나타나고 있다. 영혼과 육체의 통전적 구원의식은 월남작가 황순원이 남한에서 오랫동안 출석했던 오순절주의교회의 구원관과 일치하는 것이다. 황순원이 이 소설에서 나타내고자 한 통전적 구원사상은 개인의 영혼 구원과 함께 가난하고 소외된 이들의 구제와 치유, 자활 등이 강조되는 전인적 구원의 모습으로 나타난다. |
| 영문 초록 | This article aims at studying on holistic thought of salvation in Soon-Won Hwang''''s novel, The Moving Castle. Born in northwestern areas of Korea where Christianity was propagated in the time of enlightenment in Korea. Soon-Won Hwang internalized Christianity educated in Christian schools. The Christianity in northwestern areas of Korea had been influenced by the north Presbyterian church of the United States, and it had an aspect of interdenominational evangelism, doctrinal magnanimity, and anti-imperialistic nationalism. Soon-Won Hwang criticized shamanism as well as Christianity because he tried to criticize unholistic and nomadic spirit that was focused on seeking secular blessings. Both the salvation of flesh and spirit and also that of the individual and society were considered important in the holistic thought of salvation, which was characterized in this novel. Wholistic salvation of soul and body is in concordance with the perspective of salvation from Pentecostal church that Soon-Won Hwang who came from North Kora, had attended for a long time in South Korea. The holistic thought of salvation that he tried to show in this novel is revealed in the shape of holistic salvation, which emphasizes the salvation of individual soul and the relief, healing, and self-support of the poor and the neglected. |
