Several fundamental problems of modern society which are characterized by its science and technology from previous generations and the driving force of the development of modern technology are considered. The position of the modern science and technology in the Christian historical view and its contribution to the accomplishment of the kingdom of God are also considered. The Christian community usually emphasized the negative aspects of science and technology but the secular society is believing that the future technology will solve most of the current problems generated by modern science. However, as long as those fundamental problems such as the energy crisis, the environmental pollution, nationalism, the materialistic understanding of human being, and the drastic change and stratification of world views are existing, it is very dark in the future. The history is progressing forward with two aspects: The completion of the kingdom of God and the closing of the history. The science and technology which are characterizing the modern society are contributing to the kingdom of God in their discovery of natural truths of the world of God and the fast spreading of the gospel throughout the under-developed country. |
