The purpose of this paper is to discuss the problems and tasks of the Korean unification. The paper, in paticular, examines and analyzes the unification policy of the new government, and proposes some useful suggestions to obtain Korean national unity. this paper discusses the following problems. First, the national unification should be new and creative one which ensures the mutual prosperity of both North Korea and South Korea. Second, we should achieve peaceful unification to accomplish of the God`s will and love for the North Korean people. Third, the unification policy of the new government is a gradual plan which promotes the possibility of unification. It is expected that, in the short term(1993-94), there will be a little of reconciliation in the North and South relations, and in the long term(1995-2000), Unification by South Korea is possible because of the collapse of Kim`s regime. therefore We should prepare that such a sudden unification may occur. We have to repent our hostile policy toward North Korea and promote the understanding of North Korea and her people, and do our best to increase the exchange and the cooperation between the North and the South. |
