현재 한국교회는 200개가 넘는 각종 신흥종교의 준동으로 고통을 받고 있다. 외국에서 수입된 이단, 국내에서 자생한 이단들, 그리고 기독교와 관계없는 신흥종교집단이 가정을 파괴하고 교회를 분열시키고 있다. 필자는 이 논문에서 신흥종교 교주들의 특징을 반사회적이며 자기애적인 성격장애자로서, 영웅, 국외자, 카리스마적 인물, 자기애적 성격장애자, 기업가로 소개하고 있으며, 이단에 빠지는 사람들을 역기능가정에서 소속감을 경험하지 못하고 성장한 사람들, 결혼생활이 불행한 사람들, 위기에 직면한 정상인, 정통교회에서 시험받은 사람들로 진단하고 있다. 교인들을 이단으로 보호하기 위한 전략으로 체계적인 성경공부, 예방적인 이단의식화 교육, 그리고 소그룹 활동에의 적극적 참여 등을 제시하고 있다. |

This paper discusses the characteristics of both the leaders and the members of the new religious movements from the perspective of a family therapist. The cult or new religious movement is defined as a religious group composed of followers who are committed to unbiblical teachings of a particular leader. An antisocial and narssicisitic personality, the cult leader is introduced in terms of a hero, an outsider, an entrepreneur, a narcissist, and a charismatic figure. The members of the heretical cult are characterized as adult children who grew up in dysfuctional families without a sense of belonging, struggling in an unhappy marriages, in the midst of trauma or crisis, or deeply disappointed in one way or another in the established/organized churches. A few strategies to keep people from falling into new cult groups such as systematic Biblical teaching, preventive cult awareness education, getting people involved in small or cell groups are suggested. |
