This research is designed in the view that a good economic policy, promoting the welfare of human beings, is generally origined in the Bible. There has been research that the Codes of Hammurabi is the origin of the antitrust law. This research traces the origin of the antitrust policy, an important tool to correct the bad economic performance of the Capitalism, to the Bible. The contents are divided into two major parts, in large. The first part is inquiring into the antitrust thoughts in the Law of Moses and the Codes of Hammurabi. The other is to do comparative study between the two to clarify that the Law of Moses in the Bible is an origin independent to the Codes of Hammurabi which is earlier than the former. It is the result of this research that the Law of Moses, which is from God, has antitrust thoughts. The Law of Moses is independent to the Codes of Hammurabi, especially in the light of antitrust. This research concludes that the Law of Moses which is from God is an origin of antitrust, and the thoughts of the Year of Jubilee and the Year of Sabbath in the Law of Moses are the origin of antitrust thoughts. |
