| 영문 초록 | This thesis is a study of Koreanization of church music. The main work is to analyze a number of Koreanized songs selected from the volume, Jesus, my Joy. Technical analyses are conducted to measure the practical elements of Koreanized techniques, using a scale system with code figures defined as Koreanized Index Figures(KIF). According to KIF, the songs are categorized into three groups. The first group consists of songs with more Koreanized techniques than Westernized. The second group comprises of equal amounts of both the Korean and Western techniques. The third group has more Westernized techniques than Koreanized. The analyses conclude that the majority of the songs are categorized in the second group, whereas the remainders are equally divided by the first and third group. It is also concluded that the second and third group songs are more adoptable to the Koreanized techniques than ones in the first group. It is observed that Korean christians who are exposed to the Westernized music prefer the second and third group songs. Additionally, the music album produced by the author of this thesis demonstrates the above conclusive views. Though this album, some practical methodologies for adopting the Korean techniques are also illustrated. |
