One of the most important issues in Christian studies in these days is the development of practical cooperation among the related organizations and institutions. This is equally true in the field of education. This study aims to investigate the context of cooperation between Christian alternative and home schooling in Korea. In order to achieve this aim, the foundations and nature of each schooling system are analyzed and their common grounds are also explored in terms of goals, curriculum, teachers/parents and learners. Based on the analysis the following suggestions and practical guidelines are purposed: 1. Of crucial importance is cooperation in developing a legal system for Christian alternative education in Korea. It should be noted that ‘compulsory education’is not necessarily equal to ‘compulsory attendance of public school’. 2. We have to develop educational strategies to lower the barriers between the Christian alternative and home schooling. Students should easily move from one system to another according to their needs and changes in their learning situations. 3. Christian alternative and home school should do their best to develop curriculums, resources and textbooks from elementary to secondary education. In the beginning it is necessary to translate some materials into Korean. 4. Christian school teachers and home schooling parents should develop in-service training programs together. They should include not only the curriculum contents but also the philosophies and methods of Christian alternative education. 5. The students in Christian alternative and home schooling need to expand their learning experience through exchange programs in sports, camps, field trips, academic and art activities and science exhibitions etc. 6. The facilities of Christian alternative school are encouraged to open to the home schooling parents for the educational activities. The home schooling parents should also participate in Christian alternative schools through voluntary activities such as events, meeting, and exhibitions.
