영문 초록 | Johannes Kepler, German Lutheran astronomer, is one of the best examples who worked in the frame of Christian world-and-life-view. He learned Copernicus`s theory from his teacher, Michael Maestlin at the University of T bingen, a famous center of Protestant theological studies. Although he experienced lots of pain-extreme poverty, many diseases, death of his kids and wife, and the 30-year war, he kept his studying of astronomy because he considered his scientific studies as one way of serving God. During the living in Prague, he found the 3 Laws of Planetary Motion in which he abandoned circular orbits of planets and accepted elliptical orbits, removing the Aristotelian dichotomic worldview from European mind. He stood himself at the creationist tradition in understanding God`s creation and his opulent imagination was rooted in Christian worldview. although he was forbidden in the sacramental ceremony from Lutheran church, he firmly stayed for his lifetime in the reformed faith and tried to bring glory to God through his scientific studies. |
