| 국문 초록 | 이 논문은 4차 산업혁명이 가져올 과학기술의 고도화가 민주주의에 끼치는 영향을 일반 시민의 정치 참여에 대한 배제, 그리고 민주주의가 추구하는 가치에 대한 경시현상 심화라는 두 가지 측면에서 짚어 본 뒤, 이러한 위기에 대비하여 민주주의를 위하여 교육이 할 수 있는 역할이 무엇인지에 대하여 고찰해 보았다. 이를 위하여, 민주주의와 교육을 불가분의 관계로 보았던 존 듀이의 논의와 민주주의 전통에 대한 입문을 강조한 R. S. 피터스의 논의 그리고 진정한 민주주의를 위한 교육으로 ‘인간계발패러다임’을 주장한 누스바움의 논의를 분석하고, 이러한 논의가 4차 산업혁명을 앞둔 시점에 우리에게 주는 시사점 및 그것이 한국 사회의 맥락에 던지는 함의도 짚어보았다. |
| 영문 초록 | This paper examines the effects of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on democracy and aims to find a role of education in this regard. The Fourth Industrial Revolution represents a breakthrough in science and technology. The enhancement and complexity of such technologies lead to the exclusion of the general citizen participation in politics and the dilution of the value pursued by democracy. This is another crisis of democracy. To prepare for this crisis, it is necessary to find what education can do for democracy. To this end, we analyze the argument of John Dewey, who viewed democracy as an inseparable relationship, with R. S. Peters, who emphasized an initiation to democratic tradition, and Martha C. Nussbaum 's argument for "human development paradigm" as a genuine democracy education, These discussions also point to implications for us at the time of the fourth industrial revolution and implications of this in the context of Korean society. |
