| 국문 초록 | 목적: 본고에서는 통일, 북한과 관련하여 교육 영역에서 추진된 다양한 활동의 성과와 쟁점을 살펴보고, 평화와 통일 교육 기반과 과제, 실행 방안을 제시하였다. 방법: 국내에서 발표된 문헌을 분석, 통합하였다. 결과: 먼저 통일과 관련된 교육영역의 주요 쟁점으로 학교, 교사, 지역 환경의 특성에 따라 이질적으로 존재하는 통일인식의 한계, 탈북학생들의 남한 사회 적응을 위한 다양한 프로그램이 진행되었지만 탈북학생과 남한학생의 적극적 통합교육(inclusive education)이 부재함에 따른 문제가 대두되었다. 21세기로 들어서서는 남북한 학생들의 교외활동을 통한 직접적 접촉이 민간수준에서 진행되는 등 매우 구체화되는 양상을 띄는 등 성과를 보였다. 결론: 이러한 성과와 쟁점을 반영하여 향후 통일 교육을 위한 심리적, 인적, 물적, 법제도적 기반이 필요하다. 먼저 북한에 대한 적대 의식해소가 우선시 되며, 통일문제에 대한 논의의 장을 확대해야 한다는 점, 남북 교육 체제 통합을 위한 모형이 제시되어야 한다는 점이 제안되었다. |
| 영문 초록 | Objective: In this paper, we reviewed the achievements and issues of various activities promoted in the field of education related to unification of Korea, and North Korean education. We also presented the foundations, tasks, and plans for peace education and unification education. Method: The study analyzed and synthesized the literature presented in South Korea. Result: One of the major issues for unification education in Korea was the limitation of shared values of unification according to the characteristics of schools, teachers, and local environment. The other issue regards paucity of programs that are inclusive for both the North Korean and North Korean students beyond many pre-existing programs for North Korean refugee students to adjust to South Korean society. Entering into the 21st century, the unification education practitioners conducted more specific and practical activities: the direct contact through the extracurricular activities of North and South Korean students was carried out at the civilian level beyond public or national policy. Conclusion: Reflecting these achievements and issues, psychological, human, physical, and legal foundations were suggested for future unification education. It was suggested that resolving hostility toward North Korea should be given priority, that the forum for unification issues should be expanded, and that a model for the integration of the inter-Korean education system should be presented. |
