| 국문 초록 | 우리나라는 국제학업성취도평가의 수학 교과에서 우수한 성취 결과를 보인다. 그러나 높은 성취수준과 대조적으로 수학에 대한 거부감과 두려움이 많으며, 학습격차는 점차 심각해지고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 수학교육에 경각심을 가지며 기독교적 측면에서 수학교육의 대안을 찾고자 한다. 우리나라 수학교육의 문제점들은 대학 입시 중심의 교육으로부터 비롯되었고, 근본적으로 이 문제는 근대 이후에 교육을 통한 계층 이동에 대한 욕구와 관련되었기 때문이다. 또한 근대 이후의 교육은 종교성을 배제하며 인간의 모든 측면을 포함하는 전인 형성을 어렵게 하고 있다. 따라서 수학교육학, 수리철학, Herman Dooyeweerd의 이론 등을 참고하며 교육의 기본이 되는 철학을 정립하고, 실제 교수·학습에 도움이 되는 대안을 제안하고자 한다. 본 연구의 제2장에서는 가르치는 교과로서의 수학이 무엇인가에 대해 재고하고, 수학교육에 암묵적으로 기초하며 영향을 미치는 철학적 전제로서의 수리철학을 살펴보며, 이것을 기독교적으로 어떻게 이해할 수 있는지에 대하여 살펴본다. 주요 키워드로 제시되는 마음이라는 단어가 광범위한 의미를 갖기 때문에 제3장에서는 본 연구에서 논하고자 하는 마음의 의미를 성경적 측면에서 살펴보며, 이를 바탕으로 기독교교육적 적용을 제안한다. 그리고 제4장에서는 제2-3장의 논의를 바탕으로 어떠한 교육을 실현할 수 있는지에 대한 교육목표와 수업계획표 등의 구체적인 사례를 제시한다. |
| 영문 초록 | It is not rare to witness that the Korean students easily achieve the outstanding results in mathematics subjects in PISA and TIMSS. Nevertheless, despite of the glorious trophies from those international competitions, the majority of the student in Korea still suffer the troubling feelings of the fear and rejection in learning the mathematics. Further, the gap between the high level students and those in the low is getting only wider. The aim of this study is to bring serious attention on this crisis in the current mathematics education, and to present the alternative solutions. To begin with, the root cause for the various problems in mathematics education in Korea can be found in our competitive education system designed and practiced only for the university entrance exams. This main problem, since the modern era in Korea, is fundamentally related to the social urge to move up to the upper classes. Therefore, from the beginning, the mathematics education after the modernity in Korea excluded the religious dimension and thus made it so difficult to form a whole person in many aspects of growing the students as mature human beings. To solve the problem, this paper will first examine various premises of the philosophies of the mathematics which implicitly shape and certainly affect the mathematics education. Then, we will discuss how to understand the mathematics from the Christian perspective particularly by adopting and articulating H. Dooyeweerd’s aspects-theory on ‘the heart’. Finally, based on the conclusions above, we will specify the Christian educational ideals, goals, and objectives so that we will be able to suggest the practical examples of the mathematics education applicable for today’s classes. |
