| 국문 초록 | 어린이 문학에 끼친 크로스오버 현상으로 성인만의 공포 문학이 그림책에 등장하기 시작했다. 그림책에 나타난 크로스오버 현상에 대한 기독교 세계관 분석이 매우 필요한 시기이다. 본 연구는 백희나 작가의 그림책 『이상한 엄마』를 대상으로 Vanhoozer(2009)의 문화해석 방법론을 적용하여 세계관을 분석하고, 기독교 세계관으로 조명해 보았다. 그 결과 첫째, 텍스트 자체의 세계로 표지를 통해 가정의 문제가 지속됨을 나타냈다. 주인공은 프로타고니스트를 전복(subversion)한 안타고니스트로 사회에 문제가 많음을 드러내고자 악인이 선인을 돕는다. 결과적으로 사회문제를 부각시키는 허무주의를 가졌다. 둘째, 텍스트 뒤의 세계로 백희나 작가는 저작권 소송을 패소하며, 염세주의 세계관을 가지게 되었다. 작가 본인도 이 시기의 감정이 작품에 반영되어 어둠이 드러남을 고백했다. 작가는 포스트모더니즘을 지향하는 CalArts에서 공부했다. 우수한 영상미를 보이지만, 그 성격은 오컬티즘이 반영된 영지주의 그림책을 다수 만들었다. 셋째, 텍스트 앞의 세계로 성인은 위로를, 아동은 재미와 무서움을 표현하며 각 독자들이 상반된 반응을 보였다. 백희나 작가는 ALMA를 수상하고 인지도를 높였다. ALMA의 수상 작가들은 ‘아동용’을 벗어나 자유로이 작업함을 강조하며, 크로스오버 성격을 강하게 드러내는 포스트모더니즘을 반영하고 있다. 결과적으로 텍스트는 포스트모더니즘을 반영하며 허무한 세상을 대체할 뉴에이지(newage) 세계관을 담고 있다. 이는 창조, 타락에 멈추어선 반영이며 구속으로 회복을 제시하는 그림책의 기독교 세계관 분석이 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 그림책을 포함한 어린이 문학에 기독교 세계관을 담을 수 있음을 Tolkien의 판타지 이론으로 예시하였다. 현은자(2017)는 그림책에 담긴 은혜는 누구에게나 닿아 있지만, 그것을 알아보는 사람이 발견하게 된다고 한다. 좋은 그림책이란 은혜를 찾아낼 수 있는 마음을 길러주는 것이다. 현재는 포스트모더니즘을 따라가는 그림책 문화 형성기에 있지만 이를 세계관 분석으로 파악하고, 창조-타락-구속의 기독교 세계관에 비추어 회계하고 다시 회복하는 문학인, 비평인, 신앙인이 되어야 함을 제언한다. |
| 영문 초록 | As a crossover phenomenon in picturebooks, Gnosticism, which is horror literature for adults, began to emerge. The current study analyzed the worldview by applying Vanhoozer’s(2009) Theological cultural Hermeneutics to Hui-na Baek’s picturebook “Strange Mom,” and illuminated it as a Christian worldview. First, the world of the text itself, the analysis revealed that the family issues continued through book cover. The main character was an antagonist that subverted the protagonist, and manifested the notion of nihilism highlighting social problems by demonstrating that the wicked help the righteous. Second, the world behind the text, Hui-na Baek lost the copyright lawsuit, and pessimism was reflected in her work. She studied at CalArts, which followed a postmodernist trend, and she has created several Gnostic picture books. Third, the world ahead of the text, adults were comforted and children found the book either fun or terrifying, which shows that the readers of each group expressed opposite reactions. Hui-na Baek won the ALMA and, raised her profile, while ALMA’s award-winning writers reflected the postmodern paradigm. Finally, this literature contains a new-age worldview that advocates Gnosticism to replace the nihilistic world. It emphasizes the absolute necessity of analyzing the worldview of picture books as a means to recover Christianity. It also demonstrates that children’s literature can contain the Christian worldview, such as in Tolkien's fantasy theory. A good picturebook cultivates one’s mind to find grace, the gift of God. Although we are currently in the era of postmodernism to which culture the picturebook adheres, one should examine it through a worldview analysis, and this emphasizes the need for individuals to be a critic, a man of letters, and a believer that repents and recovers in the light of the Christian worldview of creation, depravity, and redemption. |
