| 국문 초록 | 국외에서 사역 중인 한국 국적 선교사들 다수는 은퇴 후 생활에 대한 재정적 준비를 제대로 하지 못하는 가운데 사역을 감당하고 있다. 선교사를 파송한 교회나 소속 교단, 선교단체가 은퇴 준비를 돕거나 기여하지 못하는 경우가 대다수이며 선교사역 은퇴 후 생활은 각 개인이 알아서 감당, 감내해야 할 상황으로 받아들여지고 있어, 많은 선교사들이 안정적 노후 생활을 영위하는 것이 힘든 상황으로 확인된다. 이에 본 연구는 현재 사역 중인 한국 국적 선교사들의 은퇴 준비에 대한 인식 및 현황을 구체적으로 파악 및 공유하는 것을 목적으로, 한국 국적 선교사들 408명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하고 현장에서 사역 중인 선교사 8명을 대상으로 인터뷰를 진행하여 양적, 질적 연구자료를 각각 수집하였다. 양적 연구자료 분석을 통해 연령, 성별, 결혼여부 등의 인구학적 특성에 따른 한국 국적 선교사들의 재정적 노후준비 여부 및 정도를 제시하였으며, 수집된 질적 연구자료의 분석을 통해 귀국 후 선교사들이 경험하는 실질적 어려움, 은퇴 준비에 대한 인식 및 현황, 그리고 가능한 해결방안을 탐색하였다. 분석을 통해 나타난 결과에 기반하여, 사역 중인 한인 선교사들이 은퇴 후 최소한의 안정적 삶을 살 수 있도록 돕기 위해 선교사들 및 한국교회가 고려할 사항들을 제시하였다. |
| 영문 초록 | The majority of Korean missionaries working abroad are not properly preparing for their life after retirement. Korean churches or organization sending out missionaries often have had limited understanding of and contribution to the retirement preparation of their missionaries, while many of them have been forced to accept that it is their own responsibility to prepare for life after retirement. As a result, many Korean missionaries are found to struggle to manage for living after retirement in poverty. Thus, the purpose of this study is to explore the overall perception on retirement preparation and the current state of financial readiness for life after retirement among Korean missionaries. To collect data, we examined a total of 408 missionaries through online survey and interviewed 8 missionaries in person. Through analysis, we presented Korean missionaries’ financial readiness according to their demographic information such as age, sex, and marital status, and their verbal report on the current state of readiness and actual struggles living in Korea, as well as possible solutions. Based on the results, we made a few suggestions for Korean missionaries and churches in Korea to better help and support Korean missionaries to live a more secure and stable life after finishing their service for the kingdom of God. |
