| 국문 초록 | 제랄드 메이는 중독이 인간에게 끼치는 가장 큰 재앙은 건강한 관계를 방해하는 것이라 주장했다. 이런 이해는 어거스틴의 중독에 대한 견해와 일맥상통한다. 물론 어거스틴은 ‘중독’이라는 단어를 명시적으로 사용하지는 않았다. 어거스틴은 향유와 사용의 개념을 통해 인간이 삼중적 관계 속에서 가져야 할 질서 있는 사랑의 길을 제시했다. 그런데 만약 인간이 이런 질서 있는 관계를 벗어난 사랑을 추구한다면 어떻게 될까? 어거스틴은 인간이 하나님을 잊어버리고 사용의 대상인 세상을 향유하는 걸 오용(abusio)이라 부른다. 오용(abusio)에 빠지면 어떻게 될까? 삼위 하나님과 건강한 교제를 갖지 못하게 된다. 자연스럽게 하나님이 주시는 진정한 기쁨과 행복을 누리지 못하게 된다. 뿐만 아니라 하나님이 피조된 세계를 통해 드러내시는 당신의 본성을 보거나 깨달을 수 없게 된다. 어거스틴이 말한 오용(abusio)은 인간 안에 중독과 집착의 성향을 강화시킨다. 그래서 오용하는 대상에 인간이 더욱 집착하도록 만든다. 이런 현상이 깊어지면 인간은 진정한 기쁨과 행복의 원천인 하나님과 하나님의 형상된 인간에 대한 열망을 잃어버리게 된다. 그리고 더욱 더 파괴적인 중독현상에 빠져드는 것이다. 그럼 자연인이 어떻게 이런 오용과 중독으로부터 해방될 수 있을까? 그래서 하나님과 동료 인간과 세상을 조화롭고 규모 있게 사랑할 수 있을까? 어거스틴은 인생이 회개하고 예수 그리스도와 성령을 환대할 때 가능하다 말한다. 더 나아가 인생이 삼위 하나님을 온전히 향유할 때 오용으로부터 온전히 자유케 된다고 말한다. |
| 영문 초록 | Gerald May argued that the biggest disaster which addictions cause to people is to destroy healthy relationships. This understanding is in line with Augustine's view of addiction. Of course, Augustine did not explicitly use the word "addiction." Augustine suggested that people should have in a triple relationship through the concept of 'Frui(enjoyment) and Uti(use)'. But what if people pursue love beyond this orderly relationship? Augustine calls it 'Abusio(abusion)'. Abusio is that people forget God and enjoy(Frui) the world that is the object of use(Uti). What happens when we fall into 'Abusio'? we will not have a healthy relationship with the triune God. Naturally, we cannot enjoy the true joy and happiness that God gives us. In addition, we will not be able to see or experience God's nature that God reveals through the created world. So how can we be freed from this abuse and addiction? So can we love God, fellow humans, and the world in harmony? Augustine says it is possible when men repent and welcome Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Furthermore, Augustine proclaims that They are completely free from 'Abusio(abusion)' when men fully enjoys the triune God. |
