현대 인간 삶 속에서 밀접하게 나타나고 있는 세계화의 담론은 기독교 대학의 정체성에 중요한 영향을 미친다. 이런 정황 속에서 본 논문은 기존의 세계화가 기독 대학의 정체성을 자칫하면 퇴색시킬 수 있다는 전제 아래 현재 나타나고 있는 기독 대학의 세계화 현상을 개략적으로 조사한다. 이를 통해 본고는 기독교 대학의 정체성의 제고 필요성을 역설하였다. 이런 논의를 통하여 본 논문은 세계화에 직면한 제도화의 과정에서 커리큘럼 설립, 외국인 교수 및 학생의 증원 등 공식적인 제도들의 정비와 함께 비공식적인 제도들의 정비를 통한 통제 신념의 부활이 시급하다고 주장했다. 뿐만 아니라 이 통제 신념의 형성은 각 구성원의 상호주관적 인식을 바탕으로 구축된 기본신뢰틀을 통해 가능하다는 구성주의적 논의도 첨부 하였다. 결론적으로 본 논의를 통해 향후 기독교 대학들이 세계화의 물결 속에서 어떻게 자신들의 정체성을 구축할지에 대한 하나의 이론적 그리고 방법론적 의견을 제시하였다. |
| 영문 초록 |
Given that the effects of globalization have been detected in every corner of modern life, this paper aims to examine the ways in which christian universities in Korea react to and cope with this phenomenon. With this aim in mind, this paper contends that informal institutionalization actively embracing christian norms, values and belief system, is necessary for existing christian universities in Korea. It is only through the consolidation of this control belief that the governance of christian universities'' education can genuinely befit the original intension of establishment. In addition, since institutionalism falls short of providing actual methods of embedding control belief in the ongoing institutionalization of college education coping with globalization, some of the social constructivist assumption is borrowed to refine the whole argument. Consequently, this argument paves way for the subsequent studies dealing with the subject of globalization and christian universities by providing a theoretical and methodological perspective. |
