| 국문 초록 | 이 연구는 우리나라의 기독교학교에서 대학입시가 학교교육에 주는 영향을 탐구하기 위한 것이다. 세 개의 기독교 고등학교에 대한 질적 사례연구를 통하여 각 학교에서 교육목표의 추구와 입시준비교육이 어떤 상관관계를 갖는지를 논의하였다. 연구 결과는 이들 학교들이 신앙과 실력을 함께 중시한다는 점이고, 신앙보다 실력을 우선시하거나 신앙을 실력을 얻기 위한 수단으로 삼는 일이 지배적인 분위기로 나타나지는 않았다는 점이다. 그러나 이들 학교들이 갖는 한계점들 역시 많았다. 학교에서 추구하는 신앙이 구체적이지 못하여 개인마다 자의적으로 해석하는 위험이 있고, 실력을 시험점수나 대학입시에서의 성공 등으로 지나치게 축소시켜 이해한다는 점이다. 그 결과 학과수업 외의 활동에서는 신앙교육에 열심인 반면 학과수업에서는 일반학교의 수업과 별반 차이가 없이 입시준비에 치중하는 모습을 보여주었다. 결론에서 기독교학교교육에 대한 앞으로의 연구와 실천을 위한 세 가지 과제를 제안하였다. |
| 영문 초록 | This study aims to examine how college entrance exam influences schooling at Christian schools in Korea. We conducted qualitative case study on three Christian high schools, through which we have discussed interrelation between the schools'' educational aims and education for the exam. We found that these schools rarely emphasize academic achievements over faith nor consider faith as a vehicle to acquire higher academic achievements. However, we found many limitations within the schools. The faith that the schools pursue is not specifically defined, so individuals at the schools tend to understand it in their own ways. They also understand academic achievements in a narrow sense, such as high test scores or success in college entrance exams. Consequently, while the schools try to teach faith at extra-curricular activities, they stress education for college entrance exam at classes. In the conclusion, we proposed three suggestions on future research and practice of Christian schooling. |
